Jockheck Jewellers is a family owned and operated business. David Jockheck, a Canadian, highly experienced third-generation platinum craftsman received his training from his father starting at 15 years old. Later he worked for Birks Jewellers Inc. in Toronto and in Montreal. In 1988 after Birks closed its Toronto workshop David launched Jockheck Jewellers. In 1993 David’s wife Elizabeth had joined his business.
Elizabeth graduated Art School and underwent jewellery training receiving Goldsmith and later a Master Degree in Poland. In 1988 she left to New York where she worked for over two years as jeweller and precious stone setter during her sponsorship to Canada. In 1992 she opened her own workshop in Toronto, where she had met David.
At first they worked from home in Oakville, Ontario. Then in 1997 they moved their business to 55 Queen Street East, in the heart of Toronto’s Jewellery District.
Their business was doing very well, and they were sponsored to United States.
In 1999 David received employment at the world-famous Harry Winston, Inc., where he worked on jewellery for Royalty and Celebrities. During this time Elizabeth pursued career in design.
In 2004 the couple decided to return to Canada and set up their business at the previous location producing high end, custom made platinum and gold jewellery for the trade. In 2007-2008 Elizabeth extended her studies in computerized design enabling
Jockheck Jewellers to combine the traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies.
In 2009 the couple decided to make their services available to the public and opened the retail location for their Fine Platinum and Gold Atelier in Burlington, Ontario.
